How is latex allergy detected?
The person affected by latex allergy may experience the allergic symptoms upon exposure to latex based products such sensitizing. The symptoms are delayed hypersensitivity and contact dermatitis manifested by red, watery skin and eczematous in appearance. Latex products can produce urticaria, anaphylaxis and contact dermatitis. The allergy is properly detected through specific latex immunoglobulin E (lgE) testing and skin prick testing.
