Who are prone to latex allergy?
People who are highly susceptible to acquiring latex allergy are those who closely handle and are exposed to latex containing materials. The said people are:
- Health care workers which includes attending physicians, nurses, dentists, laboratory technicians, hospital or clinic attendants.
- Factory workers.
There are also some individuals at risk such as painters, firemen, gardeners, workers in fast food chains, and household helpers.

What are the products that contain latex?
There are various products which contain latex. Generally medical paraphernalia, protective equipments, and several household items contain latex. Moreover, the following products may contain latex:
- Medical Supplies used during emergencies such as gloves, stethoscopes, syringes and other more.
- Protective equipments such as aprons and masks made of rubber, goggles, and respirators.
- Rubber bands and erasers in the home and offices may contain latex.
- Hospital supplies such as catheters, drains, ports of injections, uppermost part of vials which normally is made up of rubber, and dental dams.
- Some of the household items which may contain latex are soles of shoes, tires, rubber carpets, lawn tennis racquet handles, rubber waistbands, gloves used for dishwashing, condoms, toy balloons, and other baby products which has rubber composition.
